The Education Scotland website carried details of parent and learner surveys being carried out in January of this year.

 

1. Could you please provide me with the questions parents and learners were asked in these surveys and also the results - including any reports/briefings etc that were generated summarising key messages
2. Also could you please tell me if the SQA has carried out any surveys of teachers or school leaders from January 2020 to present; what questions were asked, and what the results were - including any reports/briefings etc that were generated summarising key messages?

SQA and Education Scotland along with 8 other organisations involved in Scottish Education are members of the National Qualifications 2021 Group which was established in autumn 2020 and has developed the Alternative Certification Model (ACM) for 2021 Awarding.   A key part of this development has been the work by various members of this group to consult with a wide range of interested stakeholders on a range of pertinent issues to ensure that learners in 2021 get the national qualification grades they deserve. 

 

1. SQA carried out research looking at how both learners and educational practitioners view our website, with the intention of finding ways of improving the organisation's digital estate. This included surveys of both learners and teachers and lecturers. The questions asked, and the results of these surveys are provided here in response to your request regarding the parent and learner surveys that SQA carried out in January 2021.  The questions asked and the reports summarising key messages are provided as separate files.  These have been redacted for personal data only.
2. At the start of academic session 2020/21 SQA held extensive consultations on proposed modifications to National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher course assessments and contingency arrangements for the 2021 exam diet. View the:
