Senior Independent End-Point Verifier
The primary role of the Senior Independent End-Point Verifier is to help, support and manage their team of Independent End-Point Verifiers.
These activities are under the direction of staff from SQA's Contract Operations Team.
Outline of duties
- Carry out end-point assessment verification.
- Lead team of End-Point Verifiers and manage standardisation activities.
- Support and develop team members, providing mentoring and coaching as required.
- Monitor the practice and performance of individuals and the overall performance of the team.
- Liaise with the SQA Contract Operations team and provide support as required.
- Complete administration duties supporting and monitoring team members ensuring all activities are concluded within agreed time frames and that resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve best value.
- Undertake the performance management activity of the team of Independent End-Point Verifiers against Key Performance Measures.
- Participate in SQA organised events where Senior Independent End-Point Verifier input is required.
- Support SQA in stakeholder engagement as required.
- Support SQA with continuous improvement development.
Selection Criteria
Essential characteristics
Successful candidates must:
- Be either a Legally Qualified Person or Authorised Person (ie they have met the requirements of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers or the Chartered Institute for Legal Executives or the Solicitors Regulation Authority, as laid out under the Legal Services Act 2007).
- Have appropriate academic, vocational or professional qualifications or expertise in the same or closely related subject area for which they seek an appointment.
- Be able to communicate confidently, effectively, professionally and in line with SQA's corporate values both orally (at briefings and meetings) and in writing (reports).
- Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with and provide an attention to detail.
- Have an in-depth understanding of all documentation, duties, tasks and procedures associated with the subject area for which they have responsibility.
- Have a home computer or laptop with broadband internet connection and a private e-mail address.
Verifier Qualifications
Successful candidates should hold or be willing to begin working towards a verifier qualification.
Verifier qualifications might include:
- L&D11
- V1 plus CPD (in line with the current L&D11 Standard)
- D34 plus CPD (in line with the current L&D11 Standard)
- QCF Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice***
- QCF Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice***
*** Achievement of all Units that make up the Group Award(s) is also acceptable if certification of the Group Award(s) itself has not been sought.
