Assistant Invigilator

An Assistant Invigilator undertakes the duties of invigilation for the examinations of Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers (DGSA), in accordance with SQA policy and procedure.

Chief Invigilator (DGSA)

A Chief Invigilator (CI) is responsible for the organisation and supervision of invigilation of all examinations for Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers (DGSA), in accordance with SQA policy and procedures as detailed in the Invigilator Handbook.

Coder

A coder undertakes distinct procedures prior to and during coding under the guidance of SQA in accordance with SQA policy and instructions.

Education Consultant - Item Writing

An education consultant guides and co-ordinates a team of item writers / expert reviewers.

Examiner - DGSA

An Examiner undertakes pre and post examination procedures under the guidance of the Principal Assessor and in accordance with SQA policy and instructions.

External Verifier (UK and International)

An External Verifier is responsible for external verification and qualification approval activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

Independent End-Point Assessor

An Independent End-point Assessor is responsible for end-point assessment activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

Independent End-Point Verifier

The primary role of the Independent End-Point Verifier is to verify judgements made by the Independent End-Point Assessors at the end-point assessment meet the industry standards.

These activities are under the direction of the Senior Independent End-Point Verifier and SQA's Contract Operations Team.

Item writer/expert reviewer - English National Curriculum

The role involves working with an education consultant, other item writer/expert reviewer and SQA teams to ensure consistent application of standards.

Marker - DGSA

A Marker marks candidates’ work in line with General Marking Instructions and in accordance with SQA policy and procedures.

Qualification Approver

A Qualification Approver assesses completed qualification approval applications submitted by centres and make recommendations on their readiness to offer the qualifications in accordance with SQA policy and procedures.

Qualification Verifier

A Qualification Verifier is responsible for qualification verification activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

Quality Assurance Subject Expert (Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment)

A Quality Assurance Subject Expert (QASE) will support qualification approval and maintenance activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

Quality Consultant - Key Stage 1 & 2 English National Curriculum

The Quality Consultant (QC) is responsible for supporting SQA to ensure items and marking schemes are clearly mapped to the Curriculum by ensuring that all tasks are quality assured and carried out to the specification, timescales and arrangements set by SQA and the Standards & Testing Agency (STA).

Senior External Verifier (Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment)

A Senior External Verifier is responsible for ensuring that all tasks associated with external verification and qualification approval activities are carried out under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

Senior External Verifier (Petroleum Driver Passport)

A Senior External Verifier is responsible for ensuring that all tasks associated with external verification and qualification approval activities are carried out under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.

The prime role is to manage the team of external verifiers in the delivery of verification procedures for the Petroleum Driver Passport scheme to ensure that standards are maintained.

These activities will be under the direction of SQA’s Dangerous Goods team.

Senior Independent End-Point Assessor

The primary role of the Senior Independent End-Point Assessor is to help, support and manage their team of Independent End-Point Assessors. These activities will be under the direction of staff from SQA's Contract Operations team.

Senior Independent End-Point Verifier

The primary role of the Senior Independent End-Point Verifier is to help, support and manage their team of Independent End-Point Verifiers.

Supervisory Coder roles

A lead coder undertakes distinct procedures prior to and during coding under the guidance of SQA in accordance with SQA policy and instructions.

Systems Approver/Systems Verifier

The prime role is to work with the Qualifications and Verification staff and other SQA staff as appropriate to ensure consistent application of SQA Approval Criteria to ensure the consistent application of SQA's Systems Verification criteria.

Test Administrator

The prime role is to manage the administration process within schools to ensure that standards are maintained.
