Information requested

I am asking for the following under freedom of information legislation:

For the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 how much was spent on external companies to handle PR, comms and lobbying?

Please provide:

The total cost for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
The amount of money paid to each firm (including VAT)

For the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, how much was spent social media advertising, including a breakdown by year and by form of social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

Response

Thank you for your request for information from SQA.

1 SQA used the services of The Big Partnership to support communications activity in these years – please find the costs attached. SQA brought all media relations activity in-house at the end of March 2022 and therefore no longer uses a communications agency.

2 A breakdown of paid-for social media costs is attached. Paid-for social media activity is highly cost-effective and helps ensure SQA gets important information to learners, parents and other audiences. Examples include signposting learners to information and support ahead of SQA exams, and the appeals service.
