- Introduction to Garment Pattern Construction (D0RY 11)
- Art and Design: Introduction to Surface Decoration (F9VK 11).

The NPA in Costume: An Introduction to Cutting, Sewing and Surface Decoration is designed for a wide range of learners, including:
- learners who are at school or who have just left school
- college learners
- adult learners with an interest in costume design
- those who are looking to access NC/HN programmes
You will develop basic foundation skills in the cutting, making and decoration of theatrical costume and accessories.
You will also develop important transferable skills in communication, design and innovative development of original ideas which will provide you with a foundation for other higher level qualifications, such as NC Theatre Design: Set, Costume and Props — An Introduction at SCQF level 6.
Access
Entry is at the discretion of the school, college or training provider. However, it would be beneficial if you had a keen interest in costume, design and performance.
