NPA Built Environment SCQF level 5

The NPA in the Built Environment at SCQF level 5 introduces learners to techniques that are important in the construction sector.

It develops knowledge and understanding through project-based learning and introduces transferable skills — such as planning, communication and employability.

The areas covered include principles of building design, 3D modelling for the built environment, construction methods, and sustainability.

This qualification is designed to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the Built Environment. It is available through schools, colleges and training providers.

Entry is at the discretion of the centre.

Employment and progression

You could use the level 5 Built Environment award to progress to:

  • National Certificate in the Built Environment at SCQF level 6
  • a Modern Apprenticeship
  • employment in the construction sector, perhaps as a trainee technician
