SQA Advanced Diploma Administration and Information Technology (Fixed Framework)
The SQA Advanced Diploma in Administration and Information Technology (SCQF level 8) provides learners with a progression route into employment. It also provides opportunities for further study, including university degree programmes.
This qualification covers the key areas of administration in the modern business environment. Learners will develop IT skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software, as well as in the practical use of social media software and web applications for business purposes. Interpersonal skills and experience of research, planning and organising work are also covered, including delivering presentations effectively to an audience. The qualification also develops knowledge and application of legal and ethical issues in relation to the workplace and handling and management of data and information.

Access
As with all SQA qualifications, entry is decided by the college or learning provider. As a guide, the college or learning provider will look for:
- school-leaving qualifications equivalent to QCF level 3 or SCQF level 6
- a centre-devised test which shows the learner's ability to study at SQA Advanced Diploma level
- relevant work experience
Progression
