About Professional Development Awards

SQA's Professional Development Awards (PDAs) are flexible qualifications for industry, training and education and can be used to either extend or broaden professional and vocational skills.

• SQA develops PDAs in partnership with industry and we link them to National Occupational Standards to ensure they are up to date and relevant.
• Employers use PDAs to meet skills gaps at all stages of career development — including advanced SCQF levels.

Backed by SQA's world-renowned expertise in developing and quality-assuring qualifications, PDAs are ideal for developing the skills of young people, graduates and other adult learners.

PDAs are available for a wide range of skills and professions and are generally provided through colleges. Contact your local college to find out what PDA courses they provide.
