This year, exams take place from 25 April to 2 June 2025, and Results Day is on Tuesday 5 August 2025.
Within this toolkit page, you’ll find resources and graphics to help you spread the word to learners through social media, presentations, videos and posters. Please feel free to use this content in its current format, or the information provided to help you shape your own content.

This is our one-stop shop for useful resources, hints and tips to help support learners through preparing for, taking exams and awaiting results. SQA keeps this page up to date with new and updated information throughout the academic year.
Your National Qualifications
This is our resource designed to provide learners, parents and carers with everything they need to know about coursework and preparing for exams. This includes information on using sources, word counts, deadlines – as well as information on plagiarism and using Artificial Intelligence. For 2024/25 Your National Qualifications is available as a downloadable, digital resource only.
Your Exams
Your Exams provide learners, parents and carers with everything they need to know about preparing for and sitting exams. This includes information on the exam timetable, prohibited items, exceptional circumstances and getting exam results. This year, Your Exams is available as a downloadable, digital resource only.
Ensuring learners understand the information and rules associated with sitting exams is important to help them avoid losing marks, getting a lower grade or having their exam entry cancelled.

Newsletter/email suggested copy for parents
SQA’s learner booklet – Your Exams – is available to download from their website. The booklet contains important information for learners sitting National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams. It also highlights the rules that learners must know and follow to ensure they are not penalised. Please encourage your child to download and read the booklet. If you have any problems accessing the booklet please ask your child to speak to their pupil support.
