SQA statement on publication of the Independent Review of the Skills Delivery Landscape

Fiona Robertson, Chief Executive of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), said, 'We welcome the publication of the report of the Independent Review of the Skills Delivery Landscape.

'We believe these recommendations can deliver positive change. A more streamlined and aligned qualifications system, with greater clarity of roles and responsibilities, will better support learners, training providers and employers. It will also help ensure parity of esteem for all qualifications.

'We appreciate that the changed remit proposed by the review recognises the experience and expertise that our staff have demonstrated over many decades and which will help make the new qualifications body a success.

'We look forward to working with the Scottish Government and partners to consider this report, to deliver our shared ambition of an improved skills delivery landscape for Scotland.'
