Meta-skills - SQA academy 

We have now released the final meta-skills module for learners – Assessing Meta-skills. 

This module gives learners a short and simple summary of assessment requirements for meta-skills. We suggest introducing the module at the beginning of the academic year, to help learners understand the assessment standards for meta-skills. Relevant support and guidance is detailed within the module, helping learners with understanding self, setting goals and action plans, and reflective practice.  

Meta-skills sessions for Pilot Centres 

 We are offering pilot centres a staff development session on meta-skills, in preparation for the coming academic year. These can be held in-person, or online, and will focus on the practicalities of meta-skills delivery and assessment within NextGen: HN qualifications.  

The sessions will give you the opportunity to share and discuss effective practices while looking at our new collection of learner and practitioner meta-skills resources.    These sessions can be arranged before the end of this academic year or prior to the start of the new academic year. We encourage you to participate in the sessions in addition to pilot centre meta-skills support sessions available throughout the academic year.
