Quality Assurance Subject Expert
A Quality Assurance Subject Expert will support external verification and qualification approval activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by SQA.
The prime role is to support the approval and verification of qualifications in the subject area(s) concerned to ensure that standards are maintained.
These activities will be under the direction of a Senior External Verifier and staff from SQA's Operations – HN & Vocational Qualifications.
Outline of duties
- Participate in verification events, virtually or via face-to-face visit
- Participate in prior verification of centres' internally devised instruments of assessment
- Participate in approval, post approval and development activity
Selection Criteria
Successful candidates must:
- Be a subject practitioner and have up-to-date verifiable subject knowledge
- Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Be able to communicate confidently and professionally with a Senior External Verifier, SQA Co-ordinator and SQA staff
- Be able to work co-operatively and professionally with other centre staff and SQA staff
- Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with and provide an attention to detail
Key Performance Measures for Quality Assurance Subject Expert
Each year on completion of the duties outlined in the Quality Assurance Subject Expert contract specification, they will be measured against the following key performance measures.
1. Demonstrate an up to date and sound knowledge of the subject matter.
2. Complete scheduled allocation of QA activity within conditions and timescales for SQA.
3. Engage with all members of the team, SQA centre's personnel and with all members of SQA staff displaying SQAs corporate values.
