01-OCT-2024
We’ve increased the marks available in the National 5 Fashion and Textile Technology assignment from 40 marks to 45 marks.
Stage 1: the design solution
We’ve added 2 marks to the solution. Stage 1c is now worth 18 marks.
Stage 2: testing and evaluation
We’ve added 3 marks to Stage 2, which is now worth 10 marks. We’ve also renamed this stage ‘testing and evaluation’ to reflect that marks are awarded for testing as well as evaluation. Stage 2 is now split in to three sections:
- 2a - Carrying out a test into the suitability of an item (3 marks)
- 2b - Gather relevant information on the suitability of the design (4 marks)
- 2c - Evaluate the solution with reference to the brief and, based on findings from the test (3 marks)
These changes will give candidates the opportunity to access marks across a range of activities in the assignment.
We’ve updated the following documents to reflect these changes:
- National 5 Fashion and Textile Technology course specification
- Coursework assessment task for National 5 Fashion and Textile Technology assignment
